The United Democratic Movement (UDM) has raised concerns over the African National Congress’s (ANC) sudden surge in service delivery and community engagement in the lead-up to elections. UDM Secretary General, Yongama Zigebe, has labelled the ANC’s efforts as “hypocritical” and “mere electioneering tactics”.
Zigebe notes that the ANC’s sudden transformation, marked by prioritised tasks like grass cutting and waste removal, the disappearance of load shedding, and numerous building handovers, appears timed perfectly with the upcoming elections.
