AmaZulu FC Coach Pablo Franco Martin Aims for Improved Scoring Ahead of Golden Arrows Clash

AmaZulu FC’s head coach, Pablo Franco Martin, is eager to see an uptick in goal-scoring as his team prepares to face Golden Arrows. Usuthu has managed to find the back of the net only three times in their last five matches across all competitions, including a 1-1 draw with Chippa United in a DStv Premiership encounter on October 28.

Despite their struggles in front of goal, the KwaZulu-Natal giants remain undefeated in their last three competitive matches, giving Franco Martin confidence that they are moving in the right direction.

“We are finding it hard to convert, but the important thing is that we are competitive,” Franco Martin remarked. “We’re creating opportunities, earning points, and making progress, which is crucial. We’re in a process, and hopefully, our forwards will improve and capitalize on the chances they get.”

Looking ahead to the mid-season transfer window opening in January 2024, Franco Martin expressed his hopes for bolstering the team’s striking department. “Perhaps in January, we could make some signings to enhance our attacking capabilities in the final third,” the Spanish tactician added. “This will help us win more matches and achieve the objectives we’ve set as a club, coaching staff, and team.”

AmaZulu will host Golden Arrows at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday in a Carling Knockout quarter-final clash, with kick-off scheduled for 19:00. It’s a pivotal moment for AmaZulu as they aim to improve their scoring and advance in the competition.
