Following the disruptions that have been taking place at the institution, some were caused by not having a formal structure or rather an unstable structure. SASCO at the campus has a newly elected structure that launched on Wednesday to combat student issues.

Ourland Madela Chairperson of SASCO said due to the number of disruptions that have been taking place in the institution, including  recent the strike that was caused by grievance students have against the campus management.

These grievances include the following:

WiFi that is not functioning, Practical learning for students as they are meant to be an institution that encourages at least 50% practical and 50% theory practical work, among these grievances SASCO wants to create an environment that provides a higher education life style like developing a proper student portal which allows students to remain up-to-date with the institution even when they are at home.

SASCO Siteto campus started a read to learn campaign that will be held at Mhlanga Junior secondary school as a form of apology as they had disrupted the school during the strikes. The campaign is aimed at ensuring that such disruptions will not take place again. Among other things SASCO has communicated with the community of Mhlanga regarding the safety of the students.

SASCO wants negotiations with projects that take place in the community in order to provide work integrated learning and jobs to Siteto Alumnus.
