South Africa and Zimbabwe have taken steps to deepen cooperation in social development. The agreement was signed in Harare, Zimbabwe, during a bilateral engagement between the two countries.
What Happened
South Africa’s Minister of Social Development, Ms Nokuzola Sisisi Tolashe, MP, addressed delegates at the signing ceremony. She emphasized the importance of African unity, cooperation, and shared solutions.
Tolashe said bilateral partnerships remain vital during a period of global uncertainty. She noted that cooperation allows countries to address social challenges more effectively.

The Minister emphasised that Africa’s strength lies in working together. She said collaboration supports inclusive development and strengthens social protection systems across borders.
The agreement focuses on cooperation in the field of social development. Both countries aim to share best practices and support vulnerable communities.
Delegations Present
The Minister was pictured with senior officials from both countries. Those present included Mr Maita Elphus Ravhudzulo from the South African High Commission in Zimbabwe.
Zimbabwe was represented by Hon Edgar Moyo, Minister of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare. Prof Paul Mavima, Minister of Skills Audit and Development, also attended on behalf of the Minister of Defence.
