The ANC in the Alfred Nzo Region’s Umzimvubu Sub-Region held a high-energy workshop to prepare for the upcoming Provincial General Council and the 5th National General Council in Johannesburg. The session brought together local structures to discuss core organisational issues and national policy direction.
Delegates Engage on NGC Themes
The workshop drew delegates from the Sub-Regional Executive Committee, ANC branches, alliance partners, and ANC leagues. They engaged deeply with presentations that outlined the movement’s current political landscape.
In addition, participants said the platform helped align sub-regional priorities with the broader NGC agenda.
Key Discussion Points
Deliberations focused on two major documents that will shape next month’s national council:
- The Base Document on the State of the National Democratic Revolution and the Balance of Forces
- The Mid-Term Report and Review on implementing the 55th National Conference Resolutions
Speakers emphasised the need for unity, organisational renewal, and a clear assessment of progress since the last conference. As a result, delegates noted that the workshop strengthened local readiness ahead of the provincial and national gatherings.
Local Structures Show Strong Participation
ANC structures in Umzimvubu responded with enthusiasm. Leaders said the high turnout reflected commitment to strengthening organisational discipline and improving political education within the region.
Meanwhile, members expressed confidence that their inputs will shape the final mandates taken to the Provincial General Council.
Community Impact
The workshop also reinforced political engagement at grassroots level.
Delegates said understanding national resolutions helps branches address local service delivery concerns with better clarity and alignment.
