The family of Andisiwe Ndamase, a young woman from the Eastern Cape, is appealing to the public for help in locating her after she went missing more than a year ago.

Andisiwe, born on 29 December 2002, was last seen on 28 September 2023 when she left home to withdraw her R350 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant. She never returned home. At the time of her disappearance, she left behind her two-year-old child, who now lives under the care of her elderly grandmother.

Family members describe Andisiwe as a friendly and spiritual person who often attended born-again Christian churches. Her brother mentioned that she may have been spotted in Mthatha, while some community members claim to have seen her in Bizana, but none of these reports have been confirmed.

The family says life has been extremely difficult since her disappearance, especially for her young child, who continues to struggle without her mother and does not yet have a birth certificate — making it even harder to access social support.
