Umzimvubu Local Municipality, together with Alfred Nzo District Municipality, Excellent Arbor Day with a large-scale tree planting and environmental education drive at St. George’s School. The programme, attended by local leaders, learners, and environmental experts, aimed to raise awareness about climate change, clean air, and biodiversity.

What Happened

The Arbor Day commemoration featured tree planting, clean-up campaigns, and educational sessions for learners. Environmental experts led discussions on the importance of trees, the effects of deforestation, and the benefits of reforestation.

At St. George’s School, ten trees were officially planted and handed over. On Wdnesday, the 10th of September, another ten trees were distributed at Laduma SPS in EmaXesibeni.
