Butterworth-born author Anathi Kom was honored at the 6th African Global Honoree Author’s Awards 2023 for her book ‘The Tree Of Life‘ under the poetry category on July 31.

Her book is about her life experiences, being sexually abused at the age of 18 and conceiving taught her to forgive and forget and focus on loving and caring for her child.

The 20-year-old aims to heal, ignite hope, and teach people the importance of forgiving, letting go, and moving on.

I won a sponsorship from Publish’d Afrika Magazine which is why I have a book today. I published the book when I was 19 years old. – she explains.
