Water Sisulu Local Municipality’s Traffic Department in Maletswai (formerly Aliwal North) will remain closed until further notice as six (6) employees tested positive for Covid-19. The offices were closed on Friday, 21 May 2021 after one employee tested positive for Covid-19 which warranted all other employees to self-quarantine and test for the virus and their results came back positive.

The employees are currently in self-isolation and the municipality has followed all necessary precautionary measures such as deep cleaning and decontamination of the Traffic Department offices.

Walter Sisulu Local Municipality wishes all the affected employees strength in fighting the virus and speedy recovery.

We further urge residents, employees and Councillors who recently visited Maletswai Traffic Department and might have been in contact with these employees to self-quarantine for 10 days and test for the virus.

The municipality urges all residents needing traffic-related services to go to our Burgersdorp offices.

The management is trying its level best to ensure that Traffic department offices in Maletswai open for operations soon without any risk.

Residents and employees must always abide by the set safety measures aimed at controlling the spread of covid-19. They must always wear their masks properly, wash their hands with water and soap or sanitize regularly and maintain safe social distance.
