The Executive Mayor of Alfred Nzo District Municipality, Cllr Vukile Mhlelembana officially welcomed new Municipal Manager, Zamile Sikhundla at the Press Conference held at the Municipal offices in EmaXesibeni on November 2, 2022.
He expressed his joy as the Municipality has finally appointed a Municipal Manager that will be able to carry on with its work and will be able to hold Management to account fully.
This follows after Nelisile Xolo has been the acting Municipal Manager for the past two months.
“We are pleased because, we have been mandated by communities and are required by the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa to deliver quality basic services to our communities. As such, we took oath of office as Council, we undertook to carry out this mandate with diligence, dedication, and honesty. Appointing an equally capable and experienced Management arm of government became necessary in order to ensure that our people are served with speed and diligence” Mhlelembana enthusiastically said.
He also said that Sikhundla comes with a wealth of experience in local government and they are confident that his competencewill help the municipality to achieve its strategic objectives and to realize its vision.
Sikhundla’s term started from the 1st of November 2022 and will run until 2027.
