R19 000 was stolen from former Finance Minister Tito Mboweni’s bank account on Saturday, 1 October 2022.
The minister did not disclose with the media the name of the bank he was scammed from however, reports state that the money was transferred from his cheque account.
Anti- crime activist Yusuf Abramjee say scammers and cyber criminals are trying their luck with anyone and everyone. He advises everyone to stay vigilant and not click any links sent nor share their banking information with anyone as such scams are easily conducted.
