Amathole District Municipality has kicked off preparations for the 2025 District Mayor’s Cup. The launch took place on 30 October 2025, with a tour of indoor and outdoor sports facilities. Willowvale Sports Grounds, under Mbhashe Local Municipality, will host the tournament on 29 November 2025.

During the launch, officials conducted a comprehensive site visit of key sports facilities. The newly built Willowvale Sports Grounds was confirmed as the official venue for the tournament.
