Nombewu family at Mvuzi village eDungu1, Mount Frere is still in shock after the gruesome discovery of their daughter Nomgcobo Nombewu’s open grave. It is alleged that both the coffin and the corpse are missing.

According to reports Nomgcobo Nombewu was buried in July 2019 in her home. It is stated that it was her last wish to be buried in her home not in her husband’s home or her house as she was a married woman at that time.

The open grave was discovered by her son, whilst cleaning the yard, on the 18th of February this year. Speaking on behalf of the family, Lubabalo Nombewu says her sister’s son was cleaning the yard when he called him and showed him this shocking occurrence. Lubabalo then informed the community headman and was advised to go to Mt Frere police station.

The family Is calling for community assistance in finding their daughter Nomgcobo Nombewu’s body and needs help in digging the grave for further inspections.
