The dialogue brought together MSMEs, corporate partners, and local government stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and unlock opportunities for small businesses. The event focused on SEDFA’s mission to identify the development needs of both MSMEs and the private sector, while also creating a platform to facilitate deals and enhance supplier readiness.

Building Supplier Capacity

Key discussions highlighted how partnerships can drive supplier growth through compliance training, capacity building, and boosting competitiveness. Representatives from the private sector, including Nedbank, the Graaff-Reinet Business Forum, and LED officials from the Sarah Baartman District Municipality, shared insights on aligning supplier development with broader economic transformation goals.

Practical Solutions and Collaboration

Attendees explored initiatives such as the Community of Practice, and gained insights into the Department of Small Business Development’s efforts to unlock sectoral opportunities for emerging businesses. The dialogue also featured dynamic conversations on how to bridge gaps between small suppliers and corporate value chains.

Looking Ahead

SEDFA confirmed that the next Enterprise & Supplier Development Dialogue will take place on Thursday, 21 August, at the Mayfair Hotel in Mthatha, continuing its commitment to building sustainable partnerships that empower suppliers across the Eastern Cape.
