SASSA has confirmed the official payment dates for December 2025. Older Persons, Disability, and Children’s grants will all be paid during the first week of December. Here are the full details, including important notices and collection options.
December 2025 SASSA Payment Schedule
Below is the payment table released by SASSA:

Note: Once paid, the money remains in your account until you withdraw it — you do not need to rush on the first day.
What SASSA Says About Missed Payments
SASSA issued the following important message for beneficiaries:
If you did not receive your social grant on the scheduled date, urgently visit your nearest SASSA office. You may be due for a review.
This applies to people who may have pending verifications or outdated documents.
Where You Can Collect Your Grant in December
Beneficiaries can access their grants from any of the following:

- Pick n Pay
- Boxer
- Checkers
- Shoprite
- Shoprite Usave
- Supermarkets that support SASSA Gold Cards
- Postbank/SASSA designated pay points
Preferred Option
- Bank account deposits (funds reflect early morning on payment dates)
Reminder: SASSA Gold Cards Are Still Active
SASSA has confirmed that:
- The SASSA Gold Card remains valid beyond 2025 unless SASSA instructs you to replace it.
- You do not need a new card unless specifically requested.
- The card works at all ATMs and participating retailers.

Visit your nearest SASSA office if:
- Your grant did not pay out on the expected date
- Your contact details have changed
- You received an SMS requesting a review
- Your grant is under verification
- You’ve missed a previous review appointment
