The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has confirmed the official payment dates for permanent social grants for June 2026, with payments expected to begin from Tuesday, 2 June.
The payment schedule forms part of SASSA’s 2026/27 annual grant calendar and affects millions of beneficiaries receiving older persons, disability and children’s grants across South Africa.
Official SASSA payment dates for June 2026
According to the confirmed schedule:
- Older Persons Grant — Tuesday, 2 June 2026
- Disability Grant — Wednesday, 3 June 2026
- Children’s Grants — Thursday, 4 June 2026
These dates apply to beneficiaries receiving grants through:
- SASSA Gold Cards
- Postbank accounts
- personal bank accounts
- approved retail payment channels
Which grants are included?
The June payment schedule includes:
- Older Persons Grant
- Disability Grant
- Child Support Grant
- Foster Child Grant
- Care Dependency Grant
- Grant-in-Aid
- War Veterans Grant
SASSA said the staggered three-day system helps reduce overcrowding at payment points, ATMs and retailers.
Important message for beneficiaries
SASSA has again reminded beneficiaries that they do not need to withdraw all their money immediately on payment day.
Funds remain safely available in accounts after payment dates, meaning recipients can collect later to avoid long queues and overcrowding.
Beneficiaries are also encouraged to be cautious of scams, fake SMS messages and individuals requesting PINs or banking details.
What about the SRD R370 grant?
The SRD R370 grant follows a separate payment process and does not have a fixed national payment date like permanent grants.
Approved SRD beneficiaries are advised to:
- regularly check their SRD status online
- confirm banking details
- wait for SMS payment notifications
- monitor approved pay dates individually
SRD payments are usually processed later in the month after verification checks are completed.
Updated grant amounts for 2026
SASSA previously confirmed increases to several grants from April 2026:
- Older Persons Grant — R2,400
- Disability Grant — R2,400
- War Veterans Grant — R2,420
- Foster Child Grant — R1,290
- Child Support Grant — R580
Why this matters
Monthly SASSA payment-date updates continue attracting huge public interest because millions of South Africans rely on grants for food, transport, school expenses and household essentials.
Publishing payment schedules early has also become one of the most consistent high-traffic service journalism strategies for South African news publishers, especially around SASSA, SRD and grant-related searches.
