The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has officially announced the payment schedule for social grants in July 2025. Beneficiaries are urged to take note of the specific dates allocated for each grant type to avoid unnecessary congestion and long queues at ATMs or retail outlets.
According to the notice:
- Older Person’s Grants will be paid from Wednesday, 2 July 2025.
- Disability Grants will be disbursed from Thursday, 3 July 2025.
- Children’s Grants will be available from Friday, 4 July 2025.
SASSA reminds all beneficiaries that any grants linked to these accounts (e.g., foster care or care dependency grants) will also be paid on the same respective days.
A key message in the July communication is a reminder that “there is no need to rush to withdraw cash on the first day.” Once the money is deposited, it remains safely in the account until needed.
