On 10 November 2021 at about 20:00, the victim was at her place of residence in Tembisa South when her ex- boyfriend came and forced her into his car.
He drove to his residential place. He forced to talk with the victim and she refused. The accused forcibly undressed the victim, pushed her on top of the bed and raped her. The victim was also raped by the same accused before on 06 November 2021.
The rape case was registered at Saps Tembisa South and assigned to Detective Sergeant Reuben Tshirundu of Tembisa Family Violence, Child Protection Services and Sexual Offenses Unit.
The accused was traced and arrested.
Sergeant Tshirundu and the crew thoroughly investigated the matter, submitted all the evidence that convinced the Magistrate at Tembisa Court , until the accused was found guilty on the 20th of June and sentenced to Life imprisonment.
The Deputy District Commissioner Brigadier Lebohang Machakela applauded Sergeant Tshirundu and his crew for securing good conviction and ensuring that rapist don’t get space in the District.
