MEC Kontsiwe has handed over a close to a million sports equipments

Border provincial cricket games are finally coming to an end, these games started last year of which are intend to empower women in sport, specifically cricket code. Out of all schools that were part of this tournament only the winners will be locking horns for the 2022/23 championship.

The second semifinal will play Friday morning between Sterling high school (border) vs. Woodridge college (Eastern province) the winner between these two will face the finalist Nomandi High (Kei) Friday afternoon.

Kaya Majola cricket head director Monwabisi Joko

says thus far these young women cricketers have shown great potential even in the schools that did not qualify this far but there were players that were marvelous to watch.

“We are playing these games in celebration of women cricket world cup in some sort of motivating the young women who would like to represent the country one day and we are confident that one day one of them will play for our national team” said Joko

These games will be playing at Sterling High, first game will play at 09:00am then the final will play in the afternoon at 14:00pm
