Local youth beauty pageant, Wild Coast Sun, 22 June 2024

In the words of James Blunt, “You’re beautiful”, and the wonderfully beautiful youth from the community will once again compete in the annual Mr and Miss Bizana High School Beauty Pageant, which will be hosted at Wild Coast Sun, this coming June 2024.

The third annual pageant for the region is made possible with sponsors Wild Coast Sun, Winnie Madikizela Mandela Local Municipality, Femme Crown, Stride Institute, Wabane Holdings  and the Mzamba Taxi Association.

Stepping into the spotlight, Mr and Miss Bizana High Schools (15 to 17 years) is the main title of the pageant, with a cash prize of R10,000 for the female title and the opportunity to compete in the Miss Teenager South Africa and Teen Universe South Africa, while the gents compete for a R8,000 cash prize.

Other categories include:

• Miss Bizana petite – 5 to 10 years
• Miss Bizana Preteen – 11 to 14 years
• Miss Bizana – 18 to 27 years, with a R8,0000 cash prize

Competing for the Mr and Miss Bizana High Schools 2024 crown, two male and female finalists have each been selected from 30 schools within the region. Last year, the finalists were dressed by talented local designers: Ibhongo LeBizana Group, Yandisa Sogoni, Gracious Mavhungu, Naledi Lukhophe.

Current queen and king, Melisa Nontshe from Oliver Tambo Technical High School and Azukiswe Magaqa from Marina S.S.S will hand over their crowns on Saturday, 22 June 2024.

During their nine-month reign, the 2024 winners will prepare for national pageants but also dedicate their influence in a community building programme and give back  to their community. Current Miss Bizana High School, Nontshe, is involved in her “Stand Your Ground” project which raises awareness about bullying in schools.

Come and witness the spectacular pageant, while the finalists compete for their respective titles amongst judges and the audience.
