Alfred Nzo District Municipality Executive Mayor Cllr Tsileng Sobuthongo is expected to conduct an oversight visit to the Thulamela Water Supply Phase 2 project in Matatiele on Wednesday, 13 May 2026.
The municipality said the visit forms part of ongoing efforts to monitor service delivery and ensure rural communities receive sustainable access to clean water.
The project, valued at more than R53 million, is aimed at improving water supply to villages in Ward 12 and Ward 13 within the Matatiele Local Municipality.
According to the municipality, the project is expected to benefit approximately 4,000 households once completed.
Municipal officials said oversight visits are important to ensure infrastructure projects remain on schedule, meet quality standards, and use public funds transparently.
The event will take place at Mpharane Community Hall in Ward 13 at 11am.
