The Eastern Cape Development Corporation (ECDC) participated in the Berlin November MSMEs Village on 29 November 2025, where it showcased 20 Eastern Cape enterprises across Food and Beverages, Agriculture, Fashion, ICT, Film, Health, and Creative sectors. The event expanded market reach, boosted product visibility, and positioned MSMEs for new trade opportunities.
ECDC Response
In its statement, the ECDC said the Berlin platform strengthened global competitiveness for local businesses. Officials noted that the participation demonstrated the region’s innovation and readiness for global trade. The Corporation said exposing MSMEs to international markets remains a key part of its enterprise-growth strategy.
“This platform expanded opportunities for Eastern Cape entrepreneurs and reinforced our commitment to developing the provincial enterprise ecosystem,” the ECDC said.
Impact on Eastern Cape Businesses
The showcase opened doors to buyers, export enquiries, and new partnerships. Eastern Cape enterprises gained credibility through the international exposure. The event also strengthened the province’s reputation for quality and creativity, while increasing long-term investment prospects.
