The book is based on how a man can be abused by a woman. “I was inspired by a picture that I saw three years back and then gender-based violence came up, but it had to be towards men,” she explains.

Zoleka plans to merge her latest book and her foundation (Basikelele kids foundation) as a way of encouraging literature, but it’s also about giving back to the community.

Writing this book has taught her so much about herself and her capabilities as a novelist and hoping that it will reach as many people as possible.

She believes that writing is both spiritual and therapeutic, you don’t have to be in a certain mood or anything like that. It comes naturally and once you start writing, you feel a lot more different after, as if something has been taken off your shoulders.

“To aspiring writers, there’s no specific mood or time to write, write whatever it is that comes to your mind because it’s never invalid. If you going to keep procrastinating to achieve your dream, do what you can with what you have and never look back or doubt yourself,” she concluded.
