Apostle Hlumelo Dywili

On 29 August 2022, a report on the court judgement against the notorious Apostle Hlumelo Dywili (35), was released. The accused appeared before the court on Monday, 15 August 2022 following his arrest about a year ago.

Dywili was arrested for numerous charges against him, which included “trafficking in person’s and also for a number of charges of compelling and causing a person to witness sexual offence”. The report also stated the accused was arrested in August 2021 by the South African Police Services in Bizana. The case was then referred to the ‘Hawks’ Serious Organization Crime Investigation based in East London “for extensive probing”.

The report goes into detail on how Apostle lured his victims and committing his crimes.

“The investigation revealed that four females aged between 20 and 24 had fallen victims of the apostle. Dywili allegedly used his Facebook account to lure victims under false pretenses that he was going to offer them non- extensive jobs. He also used iNkonjane Community radio station in Flagstaff purporting himself to be anointed prayer warrior who help people to get healed and get solutions to daily life strife”.

After multiple attempts and bail applications post his arrest, Dywili ended up being in custody waiting for his trail which then ended up taking a year to be attended too.

General Ngwenya warns everyone that plan or are doing similar criminal acts such as the one of Apostle as justice will serve its cause on them.
