The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) has officially welcomed the arrests of two suspects linked to the murder of their Member of Parliament, Khethamabala Petros Sithole. Following a fatal shooting at Buyafuthi Hostel in Katlehong on 31 May.
According to reports, both suspects—aged 30 and 32—have been charged with murder, two counts of attempted murder, unlawful possession of a firearm, and ammunition. They are set to appear at the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, with bail proceedings scheduled for next week.
The IFP’s national spokesperson, Mkhuleko Hlengwa, stated:
We urge the SAPS to leave no stone unturned in uncovering the full truth behind this assassination.
The party says it places its full trust in the justice system to ensure accountability not only for the suspects arrested but for all involved
