The prime suspect in the murder of 23-year-old Ayanda Mdodana is said to have been arrested after being apprehended by community members of Dutyini Village in collaborative efforts with community members from Mathwebu location, in Bizana in the late hours of the evening last night. The young man who is said to be between the ages of 22 – 25 years approached a family as a person who is looking for a domestic job to herd live stock. Asiphe Mdodana’s body was found in a back room in Mathwebu with several stab wounds in the chest and was also raped after she went missing on Friday.

The man known as Lebohang from Lesotho has been parading himself as a hardworking young man desperately in need of a job. It is said that last weekend he approached a Dlamini family for a herd boy job under the alias, Ayanda Dlamini from Matatiele before fleeing with a small amount of money he stole. Lebohang is said to be fluent in both Sesotho and IsiXhosa raising suspicion that he might really be from Matatiele and not Lesotho. Pondoland Times will continue doing further investigation on the story and bring you a full report.
