OFFICIAL! JALI AND SUNDOWNS PART WAYS

Date:

Mamelodi Sundowns’ midfield stalwart, Andile Jali, will be plying his trade elsewhere in the coming season after the Klooforp-based club officially announced the termination of his contract by mutual consent.

Jali, who has been an integral part of the Brazilians since his arrival from K.V. Oostende in 2018, winning five PSL trophies and one Nedbank Cup, is now free to join any club. The club announced this via their website on the morning of May 27, 2023.

“The contract between Mamelodi Sundowns and Andile Ernest Jali, which was due to conclude at the end of the current season, has been terminated by mutual consent,” reads the official statement.

The Matatiele-born midfield maestro will not be short of suitors, as he has been rumored to be on the radar of struggling Soweto giants, Kaizer Chiefs, who have not been convincing in the middle of the park at times.

His experience, pedigree, and winning mentality can definitely add value to the Amakhosi setup, which features a lot of their youth products. The influential player was part of two domestic treble-winning Sundowns teams.
