The purpose of this launch is to curb the death and injuries of the abakhwetha.
Also in attendance were the parents, guardians, school learners, Iingcibi, amakhankatha, and the community of kwa Mbhange who were part of the dialogue.
MEC for Cogta, Zolile Williams highlighted that the initiation in the past was not for monetary gain. “Ulwaluko needs to be honored by parents, guardians, and all stakeholders such as Iinkosi and councilors must be involved in making sure that our kids are coming back alive. Let’s stop the deaths and injuries of our children at initiation schools,” he emphasized.
