The Economic Freedom Fighters has welcomed the resignation of Eskom’s Chief Executive Officer Andre de Ruyter however, the political party insists that he should not be given praises for his useless job at Eskom.
EFF described de Ruyter as incompetent, arrogant and useless. The EFF national spokesperson Sinawo Thambo said de Ruyter was never qualified for the job.
“The outgoing CEO was never qualified to appointed as the top dog at the beleaguered power utility,” said Sinawo Thambo.
The EFF demands that de Ruyter must go now without any negotiations or handshakes, not in March 2023.
“All the money paid to him must be considered as benefits of white privilege because he was never qualified for the job in the first place,” Sinawo Thambo.
EFF further demanded that Eskom COO Jan Oberholzer to hand in his resignation immediately. EFF also claims that for as long as Pravin Gordhan is still the Minister of Public Enterprises, there is no hope for Eskom not unless a competent ceo will be appointed and refused to be ‘Gordhan’s puppet.’
EFF called for all load shedding to be suspended immediately and that electricity must be restored in all households and business premises.
“Government must take drastic and necessary measures, regardless of the costs to end electricity blackouts with immediate effect,” concluded Sinawo Thambo.
