Monday Alfred Nzo district municipality held an awareness campaign from Roman Catholic church to the magistrate court and a meeting with various stakeholders partnering with Winnie Madikizela Mandela local municipality to address the alarming gender-based violence and alarming crime acts taking place.

Honorable Cllr D Mafumbatha says as the Winnie Madikizela Mandela Local municipality (WMMLM) community is against drug abuse and the high level of crime occurring in Bizana she believes some of the recent crime incidents are a result of drugs abuse.

Noloyiso Yiva says the is a high rate of crimes committed against women in positions of power as the South African Youth Council (SAYC) they are saying no to the abuse and killing of women and children including the raping girls.

Bubele Manqalaza PR Councilor for the Democratic Alliance said as the Democratic alliance they believe men should protected and love women and awareness marches are important because victims are able to come and speak against the perpetrators.

The march ended with a meeting at the Oliver and Adelaide Tambo regional hospital (odditorium) involving all the security clusters, police and community forums, the meeting was meant to find solutions that could assist in combating the  crime and violence in Alfred Nzo District.
