Premier Oscar Mabuyane would like to call on communities to remain on high alert as heavy rains are predicted to hit parts of the Eastern Cape this week.

Mabuyane said the South African Weather Services issued a level 6 warning for disruptive storms in the Province. Heavy rains may continue for approximately three days.

Municipalities that may be impacted include Elundini, DR AB Xuma (formerly known as Engcobo), Great Kei, Ingquza Hill, Intsika Yethu, King Sabata Dalindyebo, Matatiele, Mbhashe, Mbizana, Mhlontlo, Mnquma, Ntabankulu, Nyandeni, Port St. Johns, Sakhisizwe and Umzimvubu.
