Mayor Zukiswa Ndevu has continued her community outreach through project monitoring visits. The walkabouts form part of the Mayor’s PR Week Programme.
What Happened
On 15 December 2025, Mayor Ndevu visited the Sogoni Electrification Project. She was accompanied by members of the Executive Committee and the Ward 17 Councillor.
The visit focused on monitoring progress and assessing project delivery on the ground. The municipality is electrifying 150 households in Ward 17.
The project aims to improve access to electricity. It also seeks to enhance living conditions in the community.
Project Progress
The municipality has recorded steady progress on site. Three transformers have already been installed. The project team is currently installing meter boxes at households.
Officials confirmed that the project is moving according to plan. Completion is expected within four months.
Community Response
Community members welcomed the development. Resident Mam Matshoba thanked the municipality for the intervention. She said electricity would improve daily life and safety in the area.
