The Mbhashe Local Municipality held its IDP Representative Forum and MPAC Roadshow at the TRC Hall in Dutywa. The quarterly sessions are part of efforts to strengthen service delivery and improve accountability. Residents used the platform to raise concerns and share feedback on the municipality’s performance.
What Happened
The municipality gathered residents, ward councillors, officials and ExCo leaders for the public engagement. These sessions form part of the five-year Integrated Development Plan and allow the community to track progress. People raised issues linked to water access, road conditions, and service delivery delays.
Municipal Presentation
Councillor Fikiswa Ndawule, who leads the Governance and Public Participation portfolio, presented the Situational Analysis and the Unaudited Annual Report for the 2024/25 financial year. She outlined key achievements and challenges, and encouraged residents to continue participating in the IDP process.
Community Input
Residents welcomed the chance to speak directly to municipal leadership. Many called for faster responses to basic service needs and tighter oversight on projects. Officials noted all submissions and said the feedback would guide the next phase of the development plan.
