Africa Mayibuye Movement provincial organizer in the Eastern Cape, Bulelani Michael Ncapayi, has resigned with immediate effect. In a letter addressed to the Provincial Chairperson, Provincial Secretary and movement structures, Ncapayi said he can no longer balance his union responsibilities with the demands of the provincial role. Despite stepping down, he confirmed that he will continue as an ordinary member.
What Happened
Ncapayi informed the PCT and NCT that evening union meetings and growing work commitments made it difficult to execute provincial organizing duties. He explained that the role requires full attention and consistent availability, which he could no longer provide.
Because of this, he asked the movement to allow another member to take up the position.
A close colleague said, “He took this decision for the good of the movement. The role demands time, focus and full participation.”
Official Response
In his resignation letter, Ncapayi thanked the movement for the opportunity to serve.
He assured members that he remains committed to the organisation’s growth and will continue supporting branch leadership where needed.
Ncapayi said, “I will remain an ordinary member and assist wherever possible. I stay committed to the progress of the Africa Mayibuye Movement.”
Movement leaders are expected to outline the process for appointing a new provincial organizer.
Community Impact
The resignation comes as the movement prepares for upcoming mobilisation efforts across the Eastern Cape. Members believe that appointing a fully available organizer will strengthen coordination and improve the movement’s performance at grassroots level.
