The Ntabankulu Local Municipality continued its 2025/2026 IDP and Budget Outreach Program with visits to Wards 10, 11, 6, and 15 on 12 November 2025. Ward councilors led the sessions, providing updates on service delivery and future development plans. Residents also shared their concerns, priorities, and proposals to guide municipal planning.
What Happened
The outreach brought councilors, officials, and communities together in four wards. Each session focused on service delivery progress and the municipality’s development roadmap for the upcoming financial year.
Moreover, residents engaged actively, raising issues such as infrastructure upgrades, access to basic services, and the need for stronger support in rural areas. The sessions aimed to improve communication and deepen trust between the municipality and its communities.
Official Response
Ward councilors emphasized the importance of community participation in shaping the IDP and budget. “We cannot plan without hearing from the people who live in these wards, Your concerns help us prioritize projects that matter most,” one councilor said.
Municipal officials also thanked residents for attending and promised continued updates as the planning process moves forward.
Community Impact
Residents welcomed the outreach and appreciated the opportunity to engage leadership directly. Many said the program makes them feel seen and heard, while others called for faster responses to service delivery needs.
