The Nyandeni Local Municipality held the Mayor’s Imbizo from 10–13 November 2025, visiting every ward in the area. The program briefed residents on the municipality’s development plans and progress reports. Moreover, communities were given space to raise concerns, ask questions, and propose solutions.
What Happened?
The municipality embarked on a four-day ward-to-ward outreach aimed at explaining its planning processes and the latest municipal report. Officials outlined ongoing projects, service delivery targets, and future programs. Residents attended in large numbers and engaged constructively throughout the sessions.
Community members were encouraged to speak openly as the municipality continues to drive a people-centered approach.
Official Response
Municipal leaders said the Imbizo was designed to strengthen transparency and accountability. They stressed that residents play a key role in shaping development priorities.
“We take these engagements seriously because Nyandeni belongs to its people, Every suggestion and concern guides our work moving forward,” an official said.
Community Impact
Residents welcomed the opportunity to interact directly with the Mayor’s office. Several expressed appreciation for being updated on municipal performance, while others raised service-delivery concerns that require immediate attention.
The sessions helped rebuild trust and encouraged ongoing dialogue between the municipality and its communities. Many locals said they want the program to continue more regularly.
