Police in Lusikisiki are urging community members with missing relatives to come forward after the body of an unidentified woman was discovered on Sunday, 2 November 2025, near a gravesite in New Town. Authorities believe the victim, estimated to be around 30 years old, may have been murdered.
What Happened
According to police reports, the woman’s body was found at about 15:50 in bushes next to the New Town gravesite. She had dreadlocks, a light complexion, and visible bruises on her arms, suggesting she was strangled.
Investigators also discovered used condoms near the scene, indicating possible sexual assault before her death. Police have since opened a murder investigation and are working to trace her identity.

Lusikisiki Detectives have appealed to the public for help. Anyone who recognizes the woman is urged to contact Colonel Kufa, Head of Detectives, at 083 427 9656.
