There was excitement at Mthatha Stadium on 1 November 2025 as King Sabata Dalindyebo Municipality hosted the Physical Wellness Games. The event was held in partnership with OR Tambo District Municipality, Buffalo City Metropolitan, Nyandeni, Mnquma, Mbashe, Chris Hani, and Dr AB Xuma local municipalities. It promoted healthy living, teamwork, and employee wellness.

What Happened

Teams from different municipalities competed in various sports codes throughout the day. The stadium buzzed with cheering crowds and friendly competition. Sports featured included soccer, netball, volleyball, darts, pool, tennis, chess, tug of war, aerobics, athletics, and golf. The event celebrated unity, health, and positive workplace spirit.

Community Impact

Organisers said the games helped strengthen workplace relationships and encouraged a culture of fitness.
