What Happened
The Afrika Mayibuye Movement officially removed Nolubabalo Mcinga as First Deputy President on 24 October 2025.
She was recalled after the movement’s National Officials accused her of serious organisational and political misconduct. A disciplinary process has been initiated.
Ms Mcinga, however, says the recall is unconstitutional, based on gossip, and amounts to political suppression.
Official Response
The Mayibuye Movement listed 16 charges, including unauthorised meetings, defamation, and insubordination.
They allege that Mcinga:
- Met with Jacob Zuma without approval
- Shared confidential internal documents
- Promised payments to PR firms to attack officials
- Falsified figures related to organisational budgets
- Spread false claims about salary and benefits
In their official statement, National Officials stressed:
“Mayibuye is not an employment agency… No salary commitment was ever made. Any help Ms Mcinga received was personal and voluntary.”
They further stated that she remains an ordinary member but faces disciplinary action internally.
Mcinga’s Response
In a press statement issued on 25 October 2025, Mcinga rejected all allegations.
She said:
“The meeting with President Jacob Zuma was personal… I remain a committed member of both Mayibuye and the uMkhonto weSizwe Party.”
She also claimed:
- No formal hearing was held before the decision
- The process violates the Mayibuye Constitution
- She received promises of support from Floyd Shivambu, not the organisation
- The recall is part of a wider culture of silencing women in politics
Mcinga also accused the leadership of hypocrisy and described Mayibuye as:
“A cult-like organisation spreading hate and division.”
Community Impact
This is one of the most high-profile removals in the young movement’s history. Mcinga is well known for her community work, youth mentorship, and traditional leadership ties.
She has vowed to continue her public service work and will host a press briefing to address the matter in full.
“I will not allow injustice to continue. The youth deserve principled leadership,” she said.
