On 15 October 2025, the Umzimvubu Local Municipality continued its Integrated Development Plan (IDP) Outreach Program at the KwaBhaca Town Hall in Mount Frere Ward 18. The engagement aimed to present ward priorities and give residents a platform to share their views on service delivery and community development.
What Happened
Community members attended in large numbers to voice concerns, raise ideas, and influence future planning. The session provided an open space for residents to discuss key issues such as roads, water, sanitation, and youth programmes.
Official Response
The meeting was led by Mayor Zukiswa Ndevu, joined by the Executive Committee, senior management, and representatives from the Alfred Nzo District Municipality. Municipal leaders reaffirmed their commitment to participatory governance and transparent planning.
“Your feedback helps shape our service delivery priorities and ensures that community needs are reflected in the IDP,” said Mayor Ndevu.
Community Impact
The outreach promotes stronger communication between the municipality and its residents. As a result, communities are more involved in identifying challenges and influencing resource allocation. In addition, the session forms part of Umzimvubu’s broader mission to ensure that development benefits every ward equally.
