On October 3, 2025, the Alfred Nzo District Municipality and the Winnie Madikizela-Mandela Local Municipality, in partnership with Equla, hosted the Second Annual Winnie Madikizela-Mandela Golf Day. The event celebrated International Golf Day and honoured the legacy of one of South Africa’s most respected icons. It also provided a platform to promote youth development through sport.
What Happened
Golfers of all skill levels came together for a day of friendly competition and reflection. The event was timed to align with International Golf Day, outlining the game’s ability to connect communities and promote positive values.
“This day provides an opportunity for golfers of all skill levels to come together, enjoy the game, and share their passion for golf with others,” said Executive Mayor Vukile Mhlelembana.
“It also reminds us of the positive aspects of golf its social, physical, and mental health benefits.”
