On 17 September 2025 the community of Tlokoeng, together with traditional leaders and organisers, is hosting the Heritage Day Imbizo at the Tlokoeng Traditional Hall to honour fallen heroes and heroines. The event is being held as part of Heritage Month, where participants are remembering sacrifices of the past and celebrating culture through storytelling, performances, and traditional practices.
What Happened
The gathering forms part of Heritage Month activities across the country. Residents and cultural leaders have convened to reflect on the contributions of past generations, using storytelling, song, and traditional practices to celebrate heritage and identity.

Organisers said the event is aimed at reinforcing pride in cultural traditions while honouring those who paved the way for today’s freedoms.
“Heritage Day is about remembering the sacrifices of our heroes and heroines, while ensuring their stories continue to inspire younger generations,” one organiser said.
