We are the future, No one can stop us!!

In 2021, Statistics South Africa released a report, Crimes Against Women in South Africa, indicating that one in five women (21%) had experienced physical violence by a partner. Speaking at the gender-based violence awareness campaign on Thursday, MEC Babalo MAdikizela did not mince his words as he motivates the learners of Marelane SSS, in making references to his own life experiences. The event organizers were much honoured to have the MEC present at this important event.

The latest crime statistics show that more than 900 women in South Africa were killed in just three months. In February, police minister Bheki Cele revealed that once again, the Lusikisiki police station had recorded the country’s highest number of GBV cases

Just after the ANC conference over the past weekend, MEC Babalo Madikizela said he is leaving politics and going back to business. The learners of Marelane were lucky to have an important political and business figure such as MEC Madikizela motivate them.

Madikikizela emphasized to his audience that it is up to them to waste their future on drugs, teenage pregnancy and other trivial things that will ruin their future. He also advised the learners to choose friends wisely. The learners listened attentively, the MEC advised the learners to set goals and targets. That way, mapping a brighter future that will guarantee they are successful in life.

The MEC walks and talks the talk, as he made his pledge publicly that he will be assisting the RISING DAWN REFLECTIONS non-profit organization.

In his conclusion, he reminded the learners of stalwarts such as O.R Tambo, Winnie Madikizela Mandela and the late President Mandela. Mr Madikizela says the youth must avoid singing outdated struggle songs such as “Senzeni na, senzeni na?” and adopt a spirit of winning.
