The Alfred Nzo District Municipality is today hosting a memorial service in honour of the late Nkosi Bhekamandla Mdutyana, a respected traditional leader and member of the municipal council.

Nkosi Mdutyana passed away on 31 July 2025 and was laid to rest on Friday, 8 August. His passing has left a deep void in the community and among colleagues who served alongside him in the municipality.

The memorial service is being held at the Alfred Nzo Conference Centre in Mount Ayliff (eMaXesibeni), starting at 10:00. Leaders, community members, and family are expected to gather to celebrate his life and contribution to the district.

Municipal officials described Nkosi Mdutyana as a leader who dedicated his efforts to both traditional governance and municipal development. His role in bridging community needs with government structures earned him respect across Alfred Nzo.

The District Municipality expressed its condolences to the Mdutyana family, saying the memorial is a moment to reflect on his legacy and reaffirm the values of unity and service he stood for.
