On Monday community members of ward 20 and some community based organisations, marched to the magistrate court, following the rape case of two young girls (16 and 12) from the same family in Mangqofoza, Bizana. Anti-gender based violence organisations together with the ANC women’s league are calling for justice for the raped girls, they want the law to take its cause and keep the accused pastor behind bars.
Pastor Gansta from Greenville (Bizana) is accused of raping two girls from the same family in Mangqofoza, it is alleged that he got to be close with the family because he had offered to help a child who had fits. Because the family in a
desperate situation they trusted that he could help, not knowing he would soon be the predator in the family. Ward councillor of ward 20 Sanele Nomvalo said, they appeal to religious leaders to help fight against pastors who use the name of God to abuse and rape women, she also said as the leadership of the ANC they are not going to tolerate untrustworthy people who pose as pastors.
The spokes lady of the Methodist Women’s Mananyano Phathekile Circuit 1347 said, they are not happy with how the case was handled at Oliver and Adelaide Tambo Regional Hospital, as the mother of the victims was not attended accordingly as the nurse were prejudice to the case.
They are also not happy with how the law handles the case because they keep on postponing the case, she said they want the alleged perpetrator Gansta to rot in jail.
The Family expressed that they feel deprived of their rights as they were told they shouldn’t have gone to court, they were also neglected by the justice system because they were just told that the case has been moved to the regional court without any further explanations.
