ONE MAN SHOW is well-known for carrying Bizana’s entertainment scene with his shoulders. A man with a great deal of experience when it comes to putting together concept events. On Saturday the 26th of March, Volo hosted a ONE MAN SHOW at Bizana’s center of entertainment (eSidayeni) supported by AUTO DEEJAY, DJ TERRA and DJ RAWNIK

As early as 7h30 guests were welcomed by soothing sounds of Auto DJ from his latest jazzy Amapiano section, sure to keep early birds tapping feet’s and nodding their heads while sipping their drinks.

Auto Deejay says he feeds off the crowd’s energy and his selection was determined by the crowd’s reaction based on song-to-song because he was the opening DJ and he says his focus was to set the mood as an opening DJ wthout boring the crowd.

Amapiano (Zulu for “the pianos” is a style of house music that emerged in South Africa in 2012. Amapiano is a hybrid of deep house, jazz and lounge music characterized by synths, airy pads and wide percussive basslines. It is distinguished by high-pitched piano melodies, Kwaito basslines, low tempo 90s South African house rhythms and percussions from another local subgenre of house known as Bacardi.

Just after Auto DeeJay’s set, the speakers were blasting “iMali by Karyendasoul & Zakes Bantwini featuring Nana Atta” a song which set the resident DJ’s mood.

DJ Terra whose real name is Temba Magadla from Mbizana is an Afro Tech & Sgubhu Dj who fell in love with the disks in 2010 when he followed his friend Dj Sthera. A trusted resident DJ of the ESidayeni, he has all the skills to keep his audience dancing

Dj Terra adds – “Every dj has his own craft and style, you just have to believe in your style.”

A skilful DJ can be seen from his selection, transitions and a wide range of other techniques required from a DJ. It is safe to say Terra hold almost all of them and he is a deserving DJ to play big stages and as well as opening for Volo Da Saint one man show.

ESidayeni prides itself with very helpful and experienced bartenders who have a great deal of experience when it comes to dealing with the club goers. Kudos to them for always holding it down nicely at the bar, making sure that people are served in a professional and respectful manner at all times.

When Dj Rawnik arrived Hindu Prayer was on, a song by Buda Sage & Froote. A song DJ Terra played to close his set.

Rawnik opened his set with a soulful house track by the legendary Black Coffee featuring Maxine Ashley and San-EL, in a moment when the club was starting to fill up. Rawnik is a master selector because he understands his crowd so much that he doesn’t move with “what’s hot”. He plays the kind of music that gets the crowd dancing. Not a man of many words but can speak with his hands.

Volo Da Saint got in just before 23h00 to begin his historic 3-hour set. Volo has single handedly held Bizana entertainment down throughout the years that we have put faith in him to hold it down on stage for not just the normal 60 minutes but 180 minutes. Volo kept the crowd dancing while at his CDJs, and everyone ESidayeni dancing.

A three-hour set is not a normal for a DJ set. If we were to ask any promoter, they would tell you that it’s almost impossible to book any DJ for a 3-hour set because of fees and the strain it would put on the DJ while playing his/her 3-hour set. The music lovers and party goers in Bizana were very lucky to witness this legendary act by DJ Volo Da Saint.

Having been on the DJ stage for more than 10 years straight, he always tries to be interactive when he is performing through infusing catchy tracks and signals. Anyone who has seen Volo Da Saint play live will attest that he has a unique style and a very wide interesting music selection coupled with a lot of experience in the game. Apart from his busy schedule, Volo Da Saint says he loves music because he gets to travel and sleep in nice places and see the beauty of our country without paying a cent. Something up-coming DJs only dream about.
