Young entrepreneurs and aspiring business owners in Mabhobho Village, KwaBhaca, are set to benefit from a youth-focused Entrepreneurship and Cooperative Dialogue hosted at the Lusizini Community Hall on Wednesday, 25 June. The initiative, spearheaded by the Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) in collaboration with Ward 22 Councillor Mzomhle Kakaza and local stakeholders, is aimed at addressing the economic challenges facing youth in rural areas.

This community dialogue comes as part of the broader commemoration of Youth Month, which honours the legacy of the 1976 student uprisings while recognising the modern-day struggles faced by today’s youth, particularly in areas marked by poverty, unemployment, and inequality.

Government departments and agencies including the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA), Small Enterprise Development and Finance Agency (SEDA), various SETAs, and departments such as Public Works and Rural Development will be present. These stakeholders will showcase programmes, funding opportunities, and support services geared toward empowering local youth through entrepreneurship and cooperative development.

The event is designed to serve both active micro-enterprise owners and youth with entrepreneurial aspirations in KwaBhaca and surrounding areas. Through exhibitions and one-on-one engagements, attendees will gain access to practical information and guidance to kick-start or grow their business ventures.

This dialogue reinforces government’s commitment to bringing developmental opportunities closer to rural communities and ensuring youth are informed of the economic tools available to them.
