The Minister for Small Business Development, Stella Tembisa Ndabeni, is continuing her service delivery and Ministerial handover campaign in Vidgiesville, Mthatha. The visit is aimed at engaging micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), co-operatives, informal traders, and youth-owned enterprises.
The engagement forms part of the NIBUS strategy, which focuses on closing the developmental gap at the lower end of the MSME chain. The strategy primarily targets women, youth, and businesses owned by people living with disabilities.
As part of this programme, a total of 128 informal traders will receive machinery, tools, and business equipment to help enhance and sustain their businesses.
Minister Ndabeni is also expected to share the Department of Small Business Development’s (DSBD) latest business offerings and flagship programmes, including the Spaza Shop Support Fund, the Informal and Micro Enterprise Development Programme, and other MSME innovations.
The Minister emphasized that arming MSMEs is a cornerstone to economic growth and sustainable development.
