In the statement released on Monday, Dr Monaisa expressed his “deep dismay” over the article, clarifying that the relationship ended solely for personal reasons and not due to infidelity. “Ms Dlamini and I had a beautiful relationship which sadly came to an end purely for personal reasons which had nothing to do with infidelity by either party,” he wrote.
He further emphasised that while he does not normally entertain rumours, the seriousness of the claim and its potential to damage Ms Dlamini’s reputation compelled him to respond.
“This specific rumour is malicious and has the potential to taint Ms Dlamini’s reputation in circumstances where the rumours are devoid of any truth,” he said.
Dr Monaisa concluded by affirming that despite the end of their romantic relationship, there is still mutual respect between himself and Ms Dlamini. The statement seeks to quell speculation and protect the reputations of both individuals amid heightened media interest.
