Thobeka Mzingelwa, (28) is an artist and a dancer from Bizana who focuses on Gqom Music. Thobza Inja Ye Gqom, as she is known by her fans is a young, talented songwriter, singer and a dancer who made her debut in music in 2019 after matric. She emphasizes that she had to focus in education before putting her focus on music as she believes music would disrupt her studies. Thobza got in Gqom industry and everyone’s tekkies were hot with her songs and dance moves.

The “Imoto ye Ex” hitmaker says even though she saw it fit for her to be in music industry,she made  herself a name in 2020.She said,

“People saw my performances and listened to my songs and that is where  I got recognition  and earned a fanbase”.

She added that she is ready to make a living throuh music.

“I can safely say I am ready to earn a living with the talent God has blessed me with”.

Thobza Inja Ye Gqom released songs like “Wabhenga mfazi ka Malume, Zabhenga Iingane Emjondolo, Siyalimaza Isibhaxu Samasosha and Indandatho amongst others. A graduate in Business  Management  says she might enjoy being the upcoming artist, However she come across many challenges.

“There was a time where I would feel like there are obstacles in my path to the success.  There was a negative response that I would find from other fellow artists to the extent that when I released a song it took too long to be online”. Thobza said, adding that despite all those distructions, positivity made Thobza who keeps Gqom alive.

Thobza is nominated in Live Your Dream SA Awards as an Upcoming  Artist.

“I call upon the Eastern Cape fellowship to support by voting for me as I represent the province in this category” Thobza pleaded.
